Night Time Girls
03:54
|
|||
I know this area pretty well
The darkened corridors of Hell
Known by many different names
From blue arctic chill to the desert plains
Eternal damnation on the city streets
The sound of high heels clicking on the cracked concrete
All the anger, all the strife
That's just a part of city life
Beneath the skyscrapers and the cafe doors
In a box in an adult bookstore
In a store, in a box, suffocating until she's bought
Night time girls are a lot of fun
Like plastic melting in the sun
Night time girls like thin white lines
Pressed on flat black valentines
See them spin on 45
Are they synthetic or are they alive?
Between the pages of pulp and pumphouse publications
Are night time girls with real touch sensation
Morals weaken and members harden
And tempt even holy men like Eve in the garden
Eternal damnation on the city streets
The sound of high heels clicking on the cracked concrete
All the anger, all the strife
That's just a part of city life
Beneath the skyscrapers and the cafe doors
In a box in an adult bookstore
In a store, in a box, suffocating until she's bought
Night time girls are a lot of fun
Like plastic melting in the sun
Night time girls like thin white lines
Pressed on flat black valentines
See them spin on 45
Are they synthetic or are they alive?
Her eyes see like windows inside of their souls
The loneliness and the sadness
Thoughts spin like dancers inside of her mind
She thinks its probably madness

Swimming with Boys
03:18
|
|||
It was a lad thing
A game that only boys could play
Sometimes it was frightening
But it kept the teenage blues away
Muscles flexed in the moonlight
Rival forces gearing up for a clash
Missile fans thought it alright
If the earth went up in atomic flash
With their minds so filled with void
I always like swimming with boys
Swimming with boys
War games on the playset
Led to violence in the streets
We were trapped in the mindset
Of soldier-dolls fighting in the summer heat
Rival forces gearing up for a clash
Missile fans thought it alright
If the earth went up in atomic flash
In their pool so dark and cold
Just like the men who run this world
Swimming with boys
Kindness and nurturing are weakness
Real men go off the deep end
Real men swim in the deep end
Real men go off the deep end
Swimming with boys

Frank and Joyce
05:24
|
|||
A dozen white roses, cut, still cling to life
In this steel cinema butterflies have been known to fly
Like moths attracted to the light
"We musn't hang around too long," she said
"This town is a graveyard floating in the empty head of a quadraped
Kneeling and drinking at the river's edge"
Let me Frank, oh yes, let me be Joyce
All my life I've been a man but now, given the choice
Like Clark Kent or a Russian spy
I'm disguised as one of the guys
Are we our bodies? Are our bodies prisons?
I feel as if I've been bitten
By a man who loses his skin
And now its that skin that I'm stuck in
Some minds are haunted by visions
Others by their decisions
Perhaps that's why I felt driven to smile when you said
When you said...
Let me Frank, oh yes let me be Joyce
All my life I've been a man but now, given the choice
Like Clark Kent or a Russian spy
I'm disguised as one of the guys
Are we our bodies? Are our bodies prisons?
I feel as if I've been bitten
By a man who loses his skin
And now its that skin that I'm stuck in
Will we see an end to lines of men, haunted by the sound
Of ghosts laboring in this industrial burial ground
Has it always been such a drag to hang around Youngstown?
Let me Frank, oh yes, let me be Joyce
All my life I've been a man but now, given the choice
Like Clark Kent or a Russian spy
I'm disguised as one of the guys
